It is our final day at the marina at Nelly Bay, and once again the weather is excellent. Tomorrow we intend to move around to Horseshoe Bay on the North of the Island and anchor there for 2 days before heading South.
Carole has put on more washing to complete getting everything clean before we spend the next week or so on the water. We also need to stock up on meat and groceries which we did this morning at the local IGA.
Our favourite lunch spot on the island has been the Picnic Bay Hotel, so as it is our last day in this area, we walked there for lunch, and were not disappointed. It is a great setting, by the water, with good quality food.
On our walk back home we found a group of local ladies with their mahjong tables set up under the trees along the Nelly Bay beach front having a lovely time. It would be pretty hard to pick a better venue !!!
We also walked past the biggest mango tree I have seen
After walking back home, it was already 3 pm (it is 8km round trip), we find Mark and Janet getting ready for race week. Janet has been given the task of scrubbing the hull, and they purchased a hooker before leaving on the trip allowing ideal underwater breathing apparatus to do the job, and a bit of diving as well.
Lunch was very filling, so we decide to have a BBQ on Mica for dinner, rather than eating out again.
