After a peaceful night at Bona Bay, we decided to move closer to Cape Gloucester where the main action for the next few days will be. There is trawler in Bona Bay that is going out each day prawning not far from the anchorage and apparently there are prawns everywhere at the moment. You can buy prawns off the trawler in 5 kg lots ( I wish we had that much room in our freezer).
Most of the boats in Bona Bay moved today, so the trawler is now sitting over there on his own.
Our dinner partners last night were from these boats. All very nice boats, despite the lack of masts and sails. Also a nice group of people.

There is now around 100 boats anchored in the vicinity of Cape Gloucester and it is expected to increase significantly tomorrow, the first day of the SICYC Rendezvous. We anchored a fair way from the resort, but there are now many boats further away than us. Two other Hanses we have met up with on several occasions arrived this afternoon (Soleil and Eureka), and another Sydney boat Kite Runner is also here.

We know a number of other boats here, so look forward to a good social few days.
Just after midday, we took the dinghy ashore, and walked along the beach to check out the resorts who are supporting the Shaggers Rendezvous. The closest one to us is the Cape Gloucester Resort, which will host one of the events, and Montes Resort further around which seems to be more the centre of activity. The actual rendezvous starts with registration tomorrow, and real activities from Friday till Sunday. We had a nice lunch at Montes before a long walk back along the beach to get in our dinghy and back to our boat.

We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing on board with a reasonably strong easterly breeze keeping the temperature very comfortable until around 6 pm when it dropped out completely , a bit like a Sydney afternoon sea breeze.
