The weather has not improved as the high pressure ridge over the area continues to deliver strong , gusty winds.
We met up with Geoff and Jenny from Ruby at just after 8am, over coffee , to discuss whether we should try for a game of golf today. As the conditions were not much good for anything else, we quickly decided to give golf a go, at Yepoon Golf Club. We met at 10 am and get a taxi to the course.
Whilst it was very windy, and the golf was challenging, we had a good day out, getting some exercise and enjoying a nice country golf course.
It had extra significance, because it was round 2 of the Mica Cup. The strong winds favoured Mike's game and he now moves to a 3 stableford point lead with Carole scoring 29 points vs Mike's 32 points.

We returned to the marina just before 4 pm, and had arranged a tour of Geoff and Jenny's Dufour 410 (Ruby), with Mark and Janet at 4.30pm. A very nice boat and excellent hospitality,
Dinner is the next priority, (sadly despite the hospitality at Yepoon Golf Club, it did not extend to supplying any food), so we were reasonably hungry by the time we got back to the marina.
Fortunately, the dinner plan had been thought through.
Each Friday night, at the nearby Capricornia Cruising Yacht Club, the volunteer staff put on a decent meal for $12.50 a head. Tonight it is Lasagna and a selection of salads. It was a great meal, and reasonably priced wines were readily available.
We also met some other cruisers and a a couple of local yachties who gave us some great advice on good anchorages from here on moving North.
