Up bright and early, I received a phone call from the sailmaker at 6.45am, letting me know he would be at his loft in 5 minutes, so I could come over and get the replacement sail slides I need for my mainsail.
(The spare sail slides I had arranged to be sent to Bundaberg were not going to get there on time, so I had contacted the sailmaker in Bundaberg to see if he would be open when we were there.)
I bought 6, 2 to replace the broken ones and 4 spares, and a length of webbing to secure them to the sail with, stitching them in place.
It was then off to the office to check in and get some fuel. I had emptied my 2 spare jerry cans into the tank and just needed to fill the spares. When checking in, I mentioned how shallow it was at the entrance to our berth, and it seems that since the last floods, the silt build up is significant. How fortunate we are to be in the deep berths !!! The marina staff are still very helpful and nothing is a problem. We have booked a rental car for tomorrow so we can have a game of golf and a look around.
We then gave the boat a much needed good soapy wash down, to get all of the salt that had built up on her over the last week or so.

The big Southerly change was not as big as forecast, with winds not much over 15 knots for most of the day.
With everything fixed by lunch time, we walked to Burnett Heads to have lunch at the Lighthouse Hotel, and do some shopping at the IGA supermarket (it was just ready to open 5 years ago when we were here last). They offer a courtesy bus back to the marina for shoppers, to ensure your purchases are not influenced by how much you can carry home.
On our walk to Burnett Heads we saw a lone kangaroo, looking out to sea.
The dinner plan was to eat again at the restaurant at the marina. Much to our surprise, when we walked up to the restaurant it was very busy, and they could not feed us. So back to plan B, we went back to the boats, and Janet made pizzas and Carole some salad to go with it. It turned out well.
