We have waited around in Mooloolaba for a promised Southerly change overnight that should give us a good breeze to sail on to Wide Bay bar tomorrow. Today there is strong evidence of the change coming, with a significant drop in temperature, but no strong winds yet at 9 pm. It looks like it will be a quick blast later tonight and hopefully 15 -20 knots tomorrow from the South.
To fill in time, I headed off to the slipway next to the marina to top up my jerry cans with diesel. Mark also needed to re-provision, but didn't see diesel as the top priority (he has a bigger fuel tank than us)
The local BWS and ice machine seemed to meet most of the requirements
We went through the usual preparations of putting things away, filling water tanks etc, ready for a sail tomorrow. None of us felt like eating out tonight, so we ate on board and had an early night. The plan is to leave at 7 am, giving us plenty of time to get to Wide Bay before dark, and hopefully cross the bar about mid incoming tide.
