Today we expect Dalwhinnie to arrive at
Rosslyn Bay, and we still have things to do, so have extended our stay for at
least another day. The weather forecast for next week is all over the place but
it looks like their may be a window to get out to the reef in the middle of the
week.
Anyway, we still have things to do, and
first up Carole did the laundry, whist I started on polishing the stainless
steel. We have a courtesy car booked for 10.15am to 12.15pm, so we can go into
Yeppoon and stock up on fresh provisions.
Shopping done, we had a bit of extra time
with the car, so we took a quick drive down to Emu Park to see if anything has
changed down there.

Back at the marina, we ran into Marg from
Moonshadow, and they have deiced to head off tomorrow for Gladstone, to sit out
the next expected southerly blow on Monday. They then hope to get out to Lady
Musgrave when the weather settles, so there is a good chance we will see them again
out there.
The marina here is still pretty shallow, we were sitting on the bottom through low tide
After lunch, we went for a walk out to
Double Head, to take in the view and have a look at the sea conditions. There
are a couple of great lookouts, where you get good views of Rosslyn Bay, Great
Keppel Island, and see a bit of native wildlife.

Looking back down at the marina (lots of empty berths)
Dalwhinnie arrived at just after 4pm and we
caught up for dinner at the Waterline Restaurant here at the marina., after a few quiet drinks to celebrate their arrival. It is very
good food at a fair price.
We have refined our plans for the next few
days and have decided to stay here until the southerly blows through on Monday,
then head out to Masthead Island on Tuesday en route to Lady Musgrave on
Wednesday (assuming the current forecast holds). A strong Northerly is forecast
to come in on Friday, and the reef is no place to be in that weather, so we
will need to go and hide somewhere. We will work it out during the week.
