Maintenance morning at Rosslyn Bay, and a restful afternoon

Sunday 17th September 2017

It is maintenance Sunday today, and I get to work polishing the rest of the stainless steel, and manage to get some wax on the easily accessible parts of the deck and cockpit, particularly around the instruments.

It turns out that Moonshadow thought better of leaving yesterday, and are now hanging around and leaving with Dalwhinnie and ourselves for Masthead Island tomorrow morning, early.

After our chores we went for our morning walk around the Northern end of the marina, this time. Dalwhinnie have been parked way over there away from everyone else as they were concerned about the depth inside the marina.

There is a nice villa development at this boundary of the marina, and a lot of cleared land which looks ready for further activity if demand ever warrants it.  All this development appears to e part of the marina complex.

Amazingly as we have gone from port to port, there are still many people too tight to go into a marina and are prepared to anchor out in the middle of the ocean and put up with the wind and waves.

I would rather be in the marina

We had a relaxing afternoon and decided to catch the bus into town for dinner at the Keppel Bay Sailing Club, a nice club right on the beach in Yeppoon. Brian and Amanda from Dalwhinnie and Pip and Marg from Moonshadow joined us. It was a good meal and the courtesy bus from the club ran us back to the marina, for an early nights rest.
