Fly back to Airlie

Saturday 5th August 2017

After a good break in Sydney, catching up with family and a few mundane things that need to be done, (like registering cars), we are now back in Airlie. Mica has survived well without us, and now we need to re provision to head further North.

There are a few maintenance things to do, so we plan to be here until Tuesday when will sail North again to Gloucester Island.

Once we settled back onto Mica and got everything operational, we went for a walk into town to get lunch and begin our provisioning, getting some fresh vegetables and a few other staples.

Tonight there is a function on at the Whitsunday Sailing Club, to welcome the "Shaggers" to the  Whitsundays. It was a great night and very well attended.

The Hanse and Moody Shaggers are enjoying themselves

It is also John's (from Imagine), birthday. So when the "Shaggers function wound up, we went back to Dalwhinnie to have a birthday drink with John, before a well deserved nights sleep.

We have been up since 4.45am, as the advice was we had to get to the airport very early because of increased security screening. We breezed through security and spent about 3 hours sitting around inside the terminal waiting for our departure.

You never get sick of the sunsets here
