The strong winds peaked today in what was a pretty gusty day with 20-30 knots. By late afternoon it was dying down and all looks set for our departure tomorrow for the Great Sandy Straights.
This morning was spent doing boat maintenance, mainly helping Steve with a few jobs on Wilparina and getting Mica ready to go tomorrow. The code zero is back in it's bag as it looks like we will be into the wind tomorrow.
The only other thing we needed to do was a bit of reprovisioning, and there is an IGA supermarket at Burnett Heads (a few km away) that provides a courtesy bus service. We called the store after lunch and the bus arrived about 15 minutes later and took us back to the marina when we were finished. The rest of the afternoon was spent watching the AFL Grand Final.
Dinner was a BBQ on Wilparina with Steve and Kim and Steve's brother and sister in law.
We plan to head out in the morning at 8 am, an hour into the incoming tide.
