We pulled up anchor at 7 am and headed off in misty conditions with zero breeze. There was very heavy condensation over everything. The breeze never got above 4 knots all day, so the sails never went up the mast.
We motored to Pearl Bay, arriving around 2.30pm and anchored in a sheltered (we hope) , but shallow part of the bay.
It turned out to be a beautiful day, with bright sunshine, blue water and a very scenic shoreline and a few islands on the way. The water temperature is now above 23 C, at last we feel like having a swim, but we didn't go ashore.
Fishing lines were in the water soon after arrival, but it was halfway through the outgoing tide and only toads were interested in biting (we did get one undersized flathead)., a few other unidentified fish were caught later in the evening but nothing edible.
The anchorage at Pearl Bay
The anchorage turned out better than Great Keppel but there was still a fair bit of rolling on the high tide late in the evening . Tomorrow morning we plan to continue heading north, through the islands
No phone or internet connections in Pearl Bay.
