It is a lovely day at Magnetic Island, not
a lot of breeze, but low humidity and temperature at mid to high 20’s.

After breakfast, Carole gave the boat a
good hose down to remove all of the salt . We then went for a walk to Arcadia,
a little settlement to the East of Nelly Bay, along Geoffery Bay. It is one of
the older settlements on the island and has a small shopping centre, a hotel,
and a few restaurants.
Geoffery Bay
I managed to get a replacement CO2 cylinder
for our Soda King machine at the newsagent there, and otherwise we just had
general look around to see what had changed. Other than a new restaurant,
nothing much has changed.
We walked back along Geoffery Bay, and the
boardwalk around the headland to Nelly Bay, where a couple of women were trying
to photograph a large sea turtle swimming in the water below.
It was now lunch time, and we stopped at
the IGA near the marina to get some cold meat and a few salad ingredients for
lunch on board Mica.
Early in the afternoon, we decided to walk
into Nelly Bay shopping area to have a look around and met up with Sue and John
from Imagine who were heading the same direction. We ended up exploring the
shopping area together and stopping for coffee (a very nice coffee), at a new
café with a Pirate Theme called Scallywags. They seemed to be doing quite well.
Dinner tonight was a BBQ in the park near
the marina that has an electric BBQ and ample under cover seating. There were
12 of us there and we had a great time.
