Saturday 11 the July 2015
We are expecting our family visitors,
Shelley and Denis to arrive today from Sydney, but plans are already disrupted
when we hear their flight has been delayed for 3 hours. It gave us a bit more
time to get organized, which wasn’t wasted.
It is Saturday market day in Airlie, so we
headed out at 8.30am, with Bill and Linda to stock up on fresh produce, which we
did enthusiastically. The range of fruit and veg is very good, and has a strong
Asian influence as many of the stalls were staffed by Thais.
Mark and
Janet had only booked through till Saturday, and would have to relocate
to another berth if they wanted to stay another day, so they headed back out on
the water at around lunch time.
Somehow the shopping fitted into available spaces
on the boat. However, one more shopping expedition was required to Woolies, to
get fruit and vegies that we couldn’t get at the market, fresh bread, and a few
other essentials.
By the time we got the last lot back to the
boat, space was getting short, but, once again, it all disappeared. Only a few minutes later, I received a call
from Shelley letting me know that they had arrived at the marina (it was around
3pm).
Once we got them settled, we went next door
to Tokeresa, for sundowners. It is a
very comfortable and very well fitted out boat, with lots of entertaining
space. The hospitality was great and we finally departed at 7 pm to head up to
Sorrento at the the marina for dinner. It seems to becoming our favourite
restaurant here.
