Friday 6th October 2017
Today is a bit overcast with rain and
storms forecast later in the day. For us it is a maintenance day.
After breakfast, I got to work removing the
faulty battery charger and installing the replacement, whilst Carole headed off
to the laundry. The morning went pretty
quickly, and at around 11am, we had a visit from Pip and Marg from Moonshadow, who
are anchored in Bum’s Bay.
They had taken their dinghy ashore with
their pushbikes, and had ridden them around to the marina on their way to
Australia Fair and elsewhere. We had morning tea on Mica and discussed plans to
go to Iluka overnight on Sunday. So far the weather forecast looks OK.
I have to mail the old charger and circuit
breaker back to the supplier, and by now it is lunch time, so we headed off to
the nearest post office, which is at Marina Mirage. Once the charger was
dispatched, we had a look around the shopping centre before going to Fishermans
Tavern for lunch, where they serve the largest salads I have seen anywhere.
Back on Mica with full stomachs, I head off
to the fuel wharf with my jerry cans, whilst Carole started to wash down the
boat. By mid afternoon our chores were done and it was time to relax.
The stormy weather mostly avoided us, but
hit hard a little further North. We had some rain but not enough to saturate everything.
Prawns for dinner on board tonight.
