Saturday 7th October 2017
Another overcast morning, but no rain.
This morning we walked to Australia Fair
and saw the latest in Gold Coast tourist technology, the waterjet flyer powered
by a jet ski.
We didn’t need to do a lot of food shopping ( as always mostly just
fresh ingredients), but the long walk around there was welcome exercise.
Lunch has been organized at the yacht club,
with our current cruising companions, as we are slowly breaking up and going
our own ways. We had a great lunch at the Yacht Club with Pip and Marg from Moonshadow,
who are continuing on with us to Iluka. Dalwhinnie is taking a faster route
home, so they plan to sail from here to Coffs. Brian is currently in Melbourne
but will return tomorrow afternoon, when they plan to leave around the same
time we will. The other boat is Run to Paradise, who we have only recently got
to know, and they are heading to Coffs early tomorrow morning. It was a very
enjoyable lunch and our next get together s likely to be in Pittwater.
A light BBQ dinner on Mica was all we
needed for dinner and we are watching the forecasts, which change regularly to
pick our departure time tomorrow. In any case we will leave the marina at
around 10am and probably anchor in Bum’s Bay, awaiting the best departure time.
At the moment it looks like around 8pm.
