Not looking to great weather day in
Newcastle, at least we can look forward to catching up with Peter and Sharon
Lovell for dinner tonight.
Whilst the wild forecast weather did not materialize,
it was wet and a bit on the cool side. We decided to fit the side covers to the
cockpit before the rain set in, and it proved to be a good decision.
A pelican and a few shags that appear to have established their territory on a platform set up for rigging and launching lasers, also seemed unimpressed with the weather.
We spent the morning giving Mica a good soapy deckwash before the rain arrived and managed to get it done before it set in.
Sharon and Peter met us at the boat for a predinner drink at around 6pm, and we then headed off to a nearby pub, Maryville Tavern, for dinner. The pub is apparently owned by a couple that had been on the TV series "The Block", and the bought this old pub and did it up. It was a great venue and the food was well priced and very satisfying. We would certainly go back.
Tomorrow we are spending the day with Peter and Sharon, looking around the Port Stephens area by road.
