Tuesday 3rd August
Still blowing like hell. We are here for the day and tonight and unless the wind abates will stay onboard as getting the dinghy on and off the deck in this would be no fun.
The anchorage at Curlew
We stayed on board all day as the wind continued to blow 20-30 knots, everyone anchored in the bay sat tight for the day. We even resorted to getting the scrabble out to keep us occupied.
The breeze looked like dropping out in the evening and we resolved we would head for Mackay in the morning if it got back down below 20 knots. At about 2 am in the breeze came again, still in the 20 – 30 knot range.
We slept better as we were tired and very confident in the anchor after the previous evening of being tossed around.
