Final Preparations for Cruise to Far North QLD

We are now in the last few weeks of preparations for a cruise North to FNQ this year. New additions for this trip include a Rainman Desalinator, so we will have no shortage of fresh water when anchored in remote places.

The 240 volt pressure unit for the desalinator, blue enclosure in photo, is powered by our 2KW Honda Generator. The pressure unit is connected to the reverse osmosis unit mounted in the cabin below this locker.

Reverse osmosis membrane housing with piping for waste water (green) and Fresh water (white).

We expect to be able to produce around 50 -70 litres of fresh water per hour.

Another improvement has been the addition of removable side covers in the cockpit to give us more protection from foul weather. Hopefully we will now keep dry in the cockpit when it is raining.

All that we are waiting on now is a new headsail and our annual service (antifouling, engine maintenance etc ) and we will be ready to go.

Somewhere around the middle of May is our current departure plan
